11 Everyday Habits That Kills Slowly


We all know a bad habit when we see one but how about those ones that are seemingly innocent? It appears most our seemingly innocent habits can lead to an early grave. Those everyday habits we thought were harmless are actually causing us more harm. We can’t always keep up with what is good for us and what isn’t especially when medical advice keeps changing.

Today, you are told eggs are bad for your health, tomorrow it’s okay to eat eggs. It just keeps getting more complicated. There are some of our daily routines that most of us should rethink as it could kill slowly. Here are 11 worrisome everyday habits that could kill you.

1. Eating at your desk

Research shows that your work station contains nearly 400 times more germs than the average toilet seat. This makes it a less than ideal place for dining. Aside the germs, spending your lunch hour at your desk can lengthen the time you are physically inactive.

2. Watching Television

Studies have shown that watching too much television might kill you. Watching back-to-back episodes of a TV series might be dangerous as the hours of inactivity can raise the risk of dying from a blood clot in the lungs. If you watch six hours of TV every day you risk dying five years earlier.

3. Snacking while in front of the TV

According to nutritionist, eating and watching television at the same time may pose a serious risk to human health. People take a lot of high-calorie foods we snack while sitting in front of the television and that’s bad. It could lead to excess weight because people tend to be distracted and are not aware of how much they have eaten.

4. Excessive cleaning of the ears

Cleaning the ears incorrectly could cause death. Rapid cleaning of the ears can tear the delicate ear drums, so be careful. While the chances that this will happen to you are very slim, it is advisable to stay away from excessive ear cleaning.

5. Plucking your nose hair

The habit of plucking your nose ear could be harmful. You tear the skin around it when you pluck the hair out. This allows bacteria to find its way into your body. Once the bacteria finds way into your body, you could be exposed to a host of health challenges.

6. Cleaning your teeth with toothpick

Using toothpick to remove food remnant from the teeth could be harmful. Toothpicks can cause abrasion and damage to your teeth and also lead to gum disease and other dental problem. Also, toothpicks are sharp, and if you break a piece of it, that pointy little end could cause one mountain of trouble inside your body.

7. Over eating

Millions of people across the world are suffering from obesity and it seems to have gotten worse over the years. Scientists say overweight people die one year earlier than expected.

8. Smoking

This is an obvious one. There’s no common habit on our planet that is as harmful as smoking.

9. Not exercising

Whats Your Excuse. Not exercising can cause all kinds of problems from flexibility and arthritis to aging and wrinkles, to weakening hearts (which by the way can lead to heart attacks and stroke).

10. Drinking water too fast

Water is great for your body, but too much of it can cause water intoxication. This is when someone drinks so much water in a short amount of time that the kidneys can’t process it quickly enough, causing deadly swelling of the brain and lungs. Don’t ever force yourself to drink when you aren’t thirsty.

11. Cheating on your spouse

Many have lost their lives for doing this. If he or she doesn’t kill you, you might end up with a heart attack. You must have heard stories of people who died while having sex with their mistress or got stuck. You don’t want to be one of them. Be Careful!!!
