Nigeria has been agog with news of the Ooni of Ife’s marriage to Wuraola Zaynab Otiti Obanor.
The wedding which took place on Saturday has been the latest talk in town. The Ooni, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, paid a bride price of N25 for his Benin native queen in absentia, making her the second Olori.
Olori is a Yoruba word for Princess Consort. Ayaba is the Yoruba word for Queen Consort. Although, Olori (also spelled “Oloori”) is more commonly used.
A lot is known about the Ooni’s first wife, Olori Adebukola Ogunwusi.
