7 Young Nigerians Who Made The Country Proud This Year 2016


Success is a virtue everyone wants to associate with no matter what. Kudos to these young lads, it’s not easy being a Nigerian, neither is it even easy trying to make or break a record in a country of over 160 million people but these 7 people did it, and did it well.. This year was a really good year as we had so many Nigerians making and breaking records. In this post, we bring you to the youngest of those Nigerians and the times they made us proud.

1. Esther Okade


The 10-year-old is a university undergraduate studying for a maths degree at the Open University, a UK-based distance learning college. As at January, she is already top of the class.

2. Kimberly Anyadike


15-year-old Kimberly Anyadike flew single-handedly across the United States and became the first African American teen to achieve this feat at the age of 15.

3. Oluwaseni Saraki


The law graduate and rapper, 22, is the second child of senate president, Abubakar Bukola Saraki. He became the youngest ever chairman of a professional football club, Ilorin-based Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club (ABS FC).

4. Evance Ochuko Ivwurie


Evance is the youngest first class graduate ever of the Royal Holloway School of the University of London in the UK when he graduated at the age of 19.

5. Dr. Olaoluwa Hallowed Oluwadara

The 24-year-old Nigerian, described as the youngest Ph.D holder in Africa, received a Ph.D Degree in Mathematics at the convocation ceremony of the University of Lagos (UNILAG). He made a cumulative grade point average of 5.0.
6. Hon. Engr. Obinna Kingsley Onwubuariri


The renowned business mogul with interest in Importing, Retailing, Hotel, Real estate and Building is only 36 years old is Nigeria’s youngest lawmaker. He represents Isiala Mbano/Onuimo Okigwe, Imo state Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.

7. Professor Ahmad Ibrahim Doko

The Senate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in its 472nd meeting approved the promotion of a 39- year old academic making him the youngest professor the school has ever seen.
