How British Newspaper Mocked Buhari’s Anti-corruption Credentials And Labelled Him A Hypocrite
A popular British news platform, Dailymail UK, on Sunday morning, questioned President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption credentials, adding that the APC chieftain who is self proclaimed as the ‘People’s President’ and waging a war against corruption, was blasted by his critics who described the war as a witch hunt.
Dailymail reported that President Buhari sends his daughter to a £26,000-a-year English school and that in April the opposition PDP party unearthed a ticket stub showing Hanan, 16, had flown first-class from London to Nigeria, despite her father’s ban on officials using premium travel.
The report quoted a Nigerian newspaper alleging Buhari had spent £150,000 on educating his daughter Zahra, a Surrey University student.
Investigations also revealed that Zahra recently attended the birthday ceremony of her sister, Nana Buhari’s one-year old daughter, where she reportedly arrived the ceremony in a bullet proof G-Wagon SUV and a convoy of five other vehicles with heavy military escort. The birthday ceremony was held at no 7, Gana Street, Maitama, Abuja.
