The Olukoya Boys’ chairman admits his side suffered from lack of depth during their first season in the top flight
MFM chairman, Godwin Enakhena revealed that the main target for the Olukoya Boys has always been to create the right platform for youth to showcase their God given talent.
The team started the 2015/16 Nigeria Professional Football League campaign with so much zest as the Olukoya Boys silenced Nasarawa United in Lafia.
However, they struggled all through the second stanza, needing a last day win to beat the drop.
“Winning the league in our debut season on the NPFL wasn’t our motive and it is still about providing a platform for our youths to showcase their God given talents. For us at MFM, every other thing achieved remains a bonus.”
“Like we know, there is no perfect team in the world. We had a solid team but lacked in-squad depth and had inexperienced players but the good thing is that this out gone season has afforded us an opportunity to garner experience at the top level which will be an advantage to us next season.
“We shall surely bring in a couple of experienced players to fortify the team as we prepared for next season.”
