Infections You Can Get From Toilets You Probably Didn’t Know


The use of public toilets and pit latrines in schools, markets, restaurants, supermarkets, airports, hotels, motels and in some houses predispose people more to toilet infections.. Lists of infections that may be lurking around in shared toilets and bathrooms:

1. Staphylococcus Infection: This is commonly known as a staph infection. These are a group of bacteria that cause a multitude of diseases. These can cause direct infection, they can be acquired from a public toilet. So the next time you use one, be very careful.

2. E-coli Infection: When you are considering how many infections can spread by using dirty toilets, E-Coli bacteria takes the priority. These infections can lead to bloody stools, abdominal cramps, and vomiting. Door handles are the area, which has the most amount of these bacteria.

3. Hepatitis A Infection: If you are wondering how many infections can spread by using dirty toilets, Hepatitis A is the most common. The symptoms are fever, nausea, and abdominal cramps. These transmitted from feces of people who are infected. Have it in your mind that, these can also spread by sharing common buckets or mugs.

4.Streptococcus Infection: This is referred to as strep and is a bacteria infection. The diseases that are caused by them are strep throat, scarlet fever, skin infections, urinary tract infections, blood infections, and pneumonia.

5.Colds and Flu:  This is very common and it is another virus infection that can spread by using dirty toilets. Even at home, when a person has flu or cold, you will notice that the entire household gets it. The same goes for using a public toilet. It may result in a headache, fever, blocked or running nose.

Always wash your hands and use sanitizer every time you use any of these places. When you are using a shared facility, prefer a clean bathroom. Never use a dirty toilet as there are a whole lot of infections lurking in it.
