Half the world’s population menstruates, but the issue is still a . of shame and embarrassment. Clue, a women’s app, tied up with the International Women’s Health Coalition to investigate. They asked 90,000 females from 190 countries about their periods, and found that they are still very uncomfortable talking about it. 86% of the women said they didn’t mind discussing it with other women, but only 34% said they were comfortable discussing it with men. Some countries are worse off than others. In Russia for example, only 14% of women said they would be comfortable discussing it with their male friends or colleagues while in Japan the figure is as low as 12%.
