How To Lighten Those Dark Thighs


hhhbbnEveryone dies to have that perfectly flawless skin from head to toe but seeing those dark thighs exposed while either being intimate or wearing a bikini is totally embarrassing.

Several women have thighs which are darker than their overall complexion. One of the reasons this happens is when your thighs rub against one another, this usually happens when women tend to put on weight around their thighs.

Dark skin on the inner thighs is an embarrassing issue for both men and women. This even affects people who have fair skin. Obese people are most prone to having dark inner thighs than others because their thighs tend to rub against each other as they walk or exercise. It looks unhygienic to begin with and there are many things that can cause this such as obesity, skin chafing, dry skin, insulin resistance, etc.

However, if you do not have any of these things, then it must be something that you have been born with, so do not panic. This condition is not threatening and there are several ways to get rid of those unwanted dark areas. It is through naturally made remedies that you can easily follow and do at the comforts of your own home.

Almond oil, milk and honey: Is rich in vitamin E which is responsible for brightening the skin tone. Milk and honey prevent infection and also moisturise the area. Take 2 tablespoon of milk and 1 tablespoon of honey in it, add 1 teaspoon of almond oil also. Apply it on inner thighs and let it stay for 15 minutes, wash it off with water once it dries.

Lemon: The acidic property of lemon works as a natural bleaching agent for dark skin, the high vitamin C content also encourages new cell growth and is very good for the skin complexion. Apply lemon juice to your dark inner thigh using a cotton ball, leave it on for 20 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water. Repeat 2 or 3 times per week, if you have sensitive skin dilute the lemon juice with water.

Alternatively, combine 1 tablespoon each of lemon juice and glycerin, add 1 teaspoon of rose water and mix well. Apply this pack on your inner thighs before going to bed. Leave it on overnight and rinse it off with warm water the next morning. Do this once daily. Lemon can dry out your skin so apply a moisturizer after using these remedies, avoid applying lemon on recently waxed or shaved thighs or if there are cuts.

Potato and tomato juice with honey: The juices act as natural bleaching agents but the juice of potato and tomato is suited for sensitive skin as well. If you have dark spots that refuse to go away, this is the perfect remedy for you. Honey will soothe the inner thigh area, peel half potato and grate it. Add tomato juice to it and 1 tablespoon of honey, apply the mixture on the inner thighs and let it dry. Then wash off with plain water.

Aloe vera: Has nourishing as well as antioxidant properties that help repair the skin and encourage skin rejuvention, it can even alleviate hyperpigmentation, fade dark skin patches and restore your skin’s original colour. Extract pure aloe vera gel from the leaf and massage it directly on the affected skin, allow it to sit for 20 minutes then rinse it off with warm water. Repeat once or twice daily for fast results or mix a few drops of almond oil in 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel. Apply this mixture on your inner thighs and massage gently until it is absorbed into your skin. Wait 15 minutes, then rinse your skin with water. You can use this pack 2 times a day.

Rose water, lemon and glycerine: if you want your inner thighs to be soft and spotless, use this pack. The three ingredients lighten skin tone and also moisturise the area. Take 1 tablespoon each of lemon juice and glycerine add 3-4 drops of rose water to it. Apply the pack on the inner thighs before bedtime, let it stay overnight you can wash the area with water next morning while bathing.

Coconut oil: Also helps lighten hyperpigmentation and revitalizes the skin, plus, its antioxidant and moisturizing properties helps maintain soft and younger-looking skin Mix 3 tablespoons of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, apply this solution on your inner thighs and massage gently for 10 to 15 minutes. Wait another 5 minutes then rinse it off with warm water use this treatment every other day.

 Yogurt: Is a very gentle bleaching agent that can lighten the colour of the inner thighs, thanks to its lactic acid. Plus, its zinc content combats sunburn. Gently rub some plain yogurt on your inner thighs, leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Use this simple treatment once daily or mix the juice of ½ lemon with 1 teaspoon of plain yogurt (preferably sour). Add ½ teaspoon each of turmeric and gram flour, apply it on the affected skin and allow it to dry. With a little water on your hands gently rub off the pack rinse your thighs with warm water. Use this pack 2 or 3 times a week.

Oats, curd and honey: Oats help exfoliate the skin while curd makes it smooth and honey has anti-bacterial properties, using this pack helps provide overall benefits to the inner thigh area. Apart from this, oats can also help beautiful skin and hair. Take 1 tablespoon oats and add sour curd in it, also add a few drops of honey apply this thick paste on the inner thighs and scrub the area gently. Wash off after a few minutes and pat dry.

Cucumber: The natural bleaching property of cucumbers can help lighten  dark inner thighs, in addition, several components in cucumbers help repair skin cells and remove dead skin cells. The soothing nature of cucumbers suits all skin types, gently rub cucumber slices or cucumber juice on the thighs for 10 minutes. Wait 5 minutes, then rinse it off with water repeat once or twice daily or mix equal amounts of cucumber juice and lemon juice. Stir in a little turmeric and sandalwood powder, apply it on your thighs for 20 minutes, then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Do this once daily.

Baking soda: Can also improve the dark complexion of the inner thighs, it works as an exfoliating agent to remove sun-damaged skin cells that have darkened. Mix 1 tablespoon each of baking soda and milk or water to make a paste, add a little honey and mix well. Apply it on your thighs and rub gently in circular motions for a couple of minutes, rinse it off with lukewarm water.Repeat every other day.

Turmeric: Inhibits melanin production, so you can use it to treat skin discoloration and maintain an even skin tone. Mix a little turmeric powder with 1 teaspoon of milk cream, rub it gently on your inner thighs. Allow it to dry before rinsing it off with lukewarm water, use this remedy once daily. Alternatively, mix 1 to 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder with enough orange juice to make a paste, apply it on your dark inner thighs and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Use warm water to remove the paste. Do this once daily.

Sugar, honey, lemon: Sugar is a natural exfoliator which helps shed dead skin cells from the area, honey helps moisturise the skin and lemon reduces pigmentation. Mix 1 tablespoon of honey with juice from half a lemon and 1 teaspoon of sugar, apply the paste of the inner thighs and gently scrub in circular motions till sugar disappears.Let it stay for 10 minutes and then wash it off with water.
