A Cambodia-based Nigerian footballer by name Harrison Chinedu has placed his name in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Chinedu currently stands as the record holder for Farthest Distance Walked With A Ball On The Head. He balanced a football on his head while walking the streets of Lagos yesterday. He started his journey from the Redeemed Christian Church of God Camp and walked all the way down to the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos
Upon arrival at the Stadium, he trekked round the main bowl eleven times to break the record before trekking further eleven times to set a new record.
Chinedu was sponsored by the Dr. Rafiu Oladipo Sports Foundation (ROSF) who made it possible to achieve his feat and he appreciated the foundation for making his dream a reality. He went on to say that his greatest challenge during the event was when he nearly had a muscle strain at Berger Bus Stop.
Reacting shortly after, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, president of the foundation, who doubles as president of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, recalled that the foundation received less support at inception of the event.
“I am happy that it saw the light of the day in the end,” Ladipo remarked. Ladipo described Chinedu as a Nigerian sports ambassador and pledged his foundation’s sponsorship for the athlete to “Tafisa 2016” championship. “We are also committed to helping any talented Nigerian youth put the country’s name on the world map,” he concluded.
