The National Universities Commission has revealed plans to scrap the diploma programmes run at undergraduate level in Nigerian universities.
Executive Secretary of the commission, Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed confirmed these plans when he received the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Dr Masaudu Kazaure.
While making the announcement, the Executive Secretary of National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Dr Kazaure, made use of the medium to dispel the rumours that the federal government had converted the Kaduna Polytechnic and Yaba College of Technology to City University.
It would be recalled, the NUC had announced a list of unaccredited courses in Nigerian universities.
The Commission had warned that any certificate issued for these courses will be considered void.
