1. Don’t sleep in your bra: Wearing a bra while sleeping may impair the blood flow and lymphatic drainage, which can lead to discomfort and even oedema (fluid retention).
2.Don’t get your nipples pierced as it can lead to infections, bleeding, nerve damage, nipple cysts and other allergic reactions. According to study, piercing nipples can also lead to Hepatitis B and C infection
3. It could be tempting to shave the hair on your nipples, but, don’t run a razor over your sensitive skin. It can lead to infections.
4. Discard all the old bras: After multiple washes, the elasticity in your bras tends to loosen and it can lead to breast, neck and back pain. If the bands or cups on your bra are saggy, it is time to toss them.
5. Wear ill-fitted bras: Never wear a bra that does not fit right. Your boobs can hurt if you are wearing a bra that is too big or small. The under wire will push into your chest and make you feel uncomfortable if your bra is too tight.
6.Tattooing may cause damage to your breasts: The inks used in tattoos may contain toxic elements that can cause skin cancer. The equipment used for tattooing, if contaminated with infected blood, can risk transmission of blood-borne viruses such as HIV, Hepatitis B and C.
7.If you are unhappy with your breast size, and wish to get a breast implant, think again. However think twice before you go for one as it may have several repercussions like infections, allergies and even cancer.
Women who have inverted nipples during pregnancy may want to gently pull out the nipples, so that their nipples are in the right position by the time the child is born. A study suggests that pulling nipples during pregnancy can cause shooting pains and bizarre sensations in your body.
8.Don’t ignore a lump in your breasts: If you notice a hard lump or knot in your breast (either one or both), it’s time to get a mammography done. Also, if you see bloody or blood stained fluid being discharged from your nipples, its a sign that you need to visit your doctor immediately.
