Today In Nigerian History: 20th June
On this day in 2014, the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Arisekola, was buried in his home in Ibadan, Oyo State on Friday amid tears.
Arisekola, who died in a London Hospital on Wednesday was brought to Adamasingba Stadium at exactly 10.05a.m.
President Goodluck Jonathan was represented at the burial by Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro, Mr Jelili Adesiyan and Mr Jide Adeniyi, Minister State for Defence, Minister of Police Affairs and Chairman of FERMA respectively. Also present were the APC National Leader, Sen. Bola Tinubu, Industrialist Chief Kola Daisi; businessman, Oba Otudeko; former Inspector General of Police, Mr Musilu Smith and Prince Ladigbolu. Govs. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun and Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun, were also there.
