1. Financial reasons
Easily the most common reason why guys shy away from putting a ring on it.
Men want to be sure that they have the financial capability to sustain a wife and the kids that will come after.
Most guys will not propose till they are certain they can afford a wedding and that their income is satisfactory enough to sustain a family.

Another reason why your boyfriend maybe holding back could be the influence of his family.
Sometimes, families lowkey oppose the relationship between you and their son.
So if he’s not proposing yet, he may yet be trying to convince his family members that you are the perfect girl for him. He should tell you about it, of course, but guys sometimes like handling things without having to bother you about it.
3. He’s just not ready
For some other guys, their reason for holding back is just their unreadiness.
If a guy is unprepared for that level of commitment, his family’s support and even financial stability won’t count for much.
If he’s not proposing despite the lovely relationship you have with him, it could be just because he’s not ready.
