Anambra State is set to rank among the top three states in Nigeria in the production of honey, as it trains 1,000 youths in bee-keeping and honey production.
It targets to export huge quantity of honey abroad to jack up its internally-generated revenue (IGR).

Governor Willie Obiano stated this yesterday in Awka while flagging off the three-day capacity building workshop for the youths, who have been mobilised to drive the process.

Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Agricultural Export and Live Chain Value, Obi Okwuosa, the governor noted that the training was aimed at empowering the youths to acquire bee-keeping and honey production skills.

He stressed that an extracting plant would be centralised for the bee-keepers.
