Award-winning Poet, Ikeogu Oke Dies at 51

Award-winning poet and journalist Ikeogu Oke has died at the age of 51.

The Cable reports that the poet passed on Saturday in Abuja where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.


Oke was a celebrated Nigerian poet during his life, winning the NLNG Prize for Literature in 2017 for his collection of poems “The Heresiad.”

His poems have been published in journals and anthologies across the world.
