Burna Boy’s strong year of international successes seemed to take another upward turn as he treated a wowed US audience to an energetic and entertaining performance on the Jiimmy Kimmel Live late night show.
By securing a performance on the show hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on ABC and produced by Jackhole Productions, Burna boy becomes the first Nigerian artiste to perform at a late Night television show in the US.
The performance featured Burna boy performing with life instruments on a stage complete with typical Nigerian ”effects” and colorful lighting. The Nigerian performer performed his recent single and hit, ”Anybody” in a very energetic and demonstrative way, drawing wild applause from the audience at the end of the performance.
This is coming on the heels of his recent solo feature on Beyonce’s Afrocentric soundtrack album for the Live action remake of the Lion King movie:`The Lion King: The Gift.’
His appearance at the nightly hour show is part of the efforts towards his album release, ‘African Giant’ album which drops on Friday.
The talented singer had only just recently clinched the coveted ‘Best International Act’ award at the BET.
The BET Award for Best International Act is an award given to honor the outstanding achievements of international artists every year.
The ‘On the Low’ singer is also having a strong year in his home country Nigeria, scoring monster hits with hefty, fan-favorite tunes including ‘Dangote’ and ‘Killin Dem’ featuring Zlatan.
This follows his quick rise to stardom in 2018 which made him one of the top five stars of the year. The singer performed at Coachella in April.
