Following the success of his Zlatan assisted single, ‘onye-eze’, CDQ has launched an ‘onye-eze’ challenge worth about a whooping N720,000.
The challenge is in collaboration with Naijaloaded and it requires participants to make a video of themselves freestyling, rapping or singing on the beat of the song in any language of their choice. They are then expected to upload their videos on Instagram, and tag a few designated handles that would acknowledge the videos. The handles included @cdqolowo @naijaloadedcomng and @mankind_naijaloaded .
Apart from the prize money, the winner of the competition gets to feature on the upcoming ‘Onye Eze 3.0’ music video. The street artiste had already previously made versions one and 2.0 already, with the upcoming one set to complete a trilogy.
The convening of talent challenges around a particular artistes song has become a regular promotion tool for artistes seeking to build buzz around their music, with the likes of Davido, Olamide and MC Galaxy having convened dance challenges in the time past.
