Nigerians woke up to a rude shock earlier today when they learnt that the presidential and national assembly elections which were scheduled for the day, would no longer hold.
The decision by INEC to postpone the elections was surprising since no one expected it to come so abruptly only hours to the commencement of the voting. Upon the postponement, many Nigerians criticized INEC for the action and questioned the integrity of the entire process.
Now, popular singer, Davido, has joined the others in reacting. Davido took to his Twitter page to make his point. In his comments, the singer insinuated that Buhari was behind the postponement because he knows he will and so wants to enjoy being president for one more week.
He went on to ask his followers to defend their vote. He wrote: “There’s nothing wrong in wanting to be President for one more week .. the seat sweet “#DefendYourVote”.
