#Cutdataprices Trends As Nigerians Call On Telcos To Reduce Data Price During Lockdown

President Muhammadu Buhari announced to Nigerians on Sunday the 29th of March that there was going to be a total cessation of movement in Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja and Ogun State.

The lockdown is the federal government of Nigeria’s move to halt the spread of the novel coronavirus in Nigeria.

As at Sunday when the announcements were made by the president, Nigeria has confirmed a total of 111 cases of COVID-19 recording just one death.

As expected, many Nigerians have had different reactions to the announcement by the president with many people calling for an economic stimulus package that will enable people that had to work daily to feed themselves and their families take care of themselves. Other people have commended the federal government’s move as a positive move.

More than that, Nigerians have now asked telcos to step up to the plate and reduce the price of data in the country that has been referred to as astronomical in many quarters.

When this report was published, none of the telcos have responded to the yearnings of Nigerians. The four major telcos in Nigeria are MTN Nigeria, Airtel Nigeria, 9mobile and Globacom Nigeria.
