Good News! 2 Nigerians Win $1m In 2016 African Entrepreneurship Award

The two entrepreneurs were among 11 winners of the second edition of 2016 African entrepreneurship award which took place in Casablanca, Morocco.

$1 million in this recession is something to be ecstatic about, and for two Nigerian Abideen Adelu and Murtala Sanni, it is a season of joy.

The Moroccan president, Othman Benjelloun was chairman of the ceremony which took place on Monday, December 5.

According to the organisers of the event, the main aim of the award was to compensate the most significant and sustainable businesses in three categories including education and environment.

African entrepreneurship award multimedia revealed that in the course of judging the competition, 37 persons reached the final out of which only 11 winners were selected.

Abideen Adelu won with a mobile application for students and Murtala Sanni won his award with an online platform for skilled workers.

BMCE Bank of Africa revealed that $1 million was allocated annually for the award and President Benjelloun, said the award was to compensate the most significant and sustainable businesses in the categories.

Meanwhile, a relatively unknown Nigerian singer, recently got a grammy nomination.

Born Faridah Seriki, Kah-Lo is the daughter a former minister Demola Seriki. Despite her ftaher’s influence, the singer is still largely unknown in her home country.
