President Buhari Receives And Decorate New Inspector General of Police

Following the retirement of former Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, his Assistant Abubakar Adamu was named as the acting Inspector- General of Police.

However, in the ceremony at the State House, Abuja, on Tuesday, 15th January 2019, Mr. Abubakar Adamu Mohammed was received and decorated by President Mohammadu Buhari, to become the New Inspector General of Police.

The outgoing police boss took over from former IGP Solomon Arase in March 2016 following his appointment by the President.

Mr Mohammed’s appointment finally brings to an end to the controversy surrounding the retirement of Mr Idris as there were speculations that President Buhari might extend his tenure.
