What Music Do You Think Surgeons Listen To In The Theater? [Click To Find Out]

Eight out of 10 surgeons listen to music while operating on patients, according to a new report.

The choice of what gets played is seen by the highly trained medical practitioners as highly important.

Is it Heart FM or a cheeky bit of Rachmaninov on Classic FM… these questions were all raised in a report by a Welsh surgeon, David Bosanquet.

Mr Bosanquet, a surgical registrar at Gwent Hospital in Newport told the Telegraph: ‘Music can be even better than a pre-med for patients waiting to go under the knife.

‘It relaxes them and helps dumb down the alien noises you get in hospitals which we are used to, but they are not.

‘It is also nice to hear when they are coming round, and helps to revive them.’

He went to say that Wham’s ‘Wake me up before you go-go’ was a particular favourite in the recovery room but that Red Hot Chilli Pepper’s scar tissue was not advisable for plastic surgeons.

We’re guessing Killer Queen doesn’t make it onto many surgery room playlists.
