PEBEC To Focus On Agribusiness, Creative Industry, Tech, Light Manufacturing In 2020

As part of efforts to improve the business environment in Nigeria and promote the industry, the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, PEBEC will give priority to the Agribusiness, Creative Industry, Tech and Light Manufacturing sectors in 2020. The Secretary of PEBEC and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Trade and Investments, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, disclosed this at the 3rd edition of the PEBEC Awards event.

Oduwole noted that the support to the aforementioned sectors would help unlock economic opportunities and encourage entrepreneurship.

According to her, Nigeria remained committed to staying among the top 100 countries for Doing Business on the Globe in 2020.

Speaking further she acknowledged the fact that at the sub-national level there have been remarkable reforms in the Ease of Doing Business in about 32 states of the federation.

Dr. Oduwole also informed stakeholders that as part of its engagement process across the country, PEBEC carried out a lithiation tour to deepen the conversation on enabling the business environment.

Anchored on the acronym “L.I.T” which means Listen, Implement, Track, the tour covered Imo State(South-East), Ekiti State (South-West), Akwa Ibom (South-South) and Kwara State (North-Central).

In 2020 she said PEBEC plans to cover the following additional states Kano, Jigawa, and Bauchi.
