In an official statement from the Federal Ministry of Education late on Monday, the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government has approved the appointments of 17 new chief executives heads for some parastatals and agencies under the Education Ministry, saying the appointment was with immediate effect.
Some of the affected agencies and appointees are;
1. Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) – Ishaq Oloyede,
2. Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) – Dr. Hameed Bobboyi
3. National Universities Commission (NUC) – Prof. Abubakar Rasheed
4. National Library of Nigeria (NLN) – Prof. Abba Haladu
5. National Examinations Council (NECO) – Prof. Charles Uwakwe
6. Nomadic Education Commission (NEC) – Prof. Bashir Usman
7. Nigerian Institute for Education Planning and Administration (NIEPA) – Prof. Lilian Salami
8. National Library of Nigeria (NLN) – Prof. Lanre Aina
9. National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education – Prof. Abba Haladu
10. National Business and technical Examinations Board (NBTEB) – Prof. Isioma Isiugo-Abanihe
11. Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) – Prof. Sunday Ajiboye
12. Computer Registration Council of Nigeria (CRCN) – Afolabi Aderinto
13. National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) – Prof. Bappah Aliyu
14. Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETF) – Dr. Abdullahi Baffa
15. National Teachers Institute (NTI) – Prof. Garba Dahuwa Azare
16. Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (NRCN) – Prof. Michael Afolabi
17. National Mathematical Centre (NMC) – Prof. Steven Ejugwu Onah,
18. National Institute of Nigerian Languages (NINL) – Prof. Chinyere Ohiri-Aniche
The President was said to have also retained some chief executives, they include;
20. Nigeria Educational Research and Development Council – Prof. Samaila Junaidu
21. Nigerian French Language Village – Prof. Rauf Adebisi
22. National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) – Dr. Mas’ud Kazaure
23. National Arabic Language Village (NALV) – Prof. Muhammad Mu’az
