The Nigerian Super Eagles have dropped to the 39th position on the latest FIFA ranking.

This is coming after a 2-0 loss to South Africa in an Africa cup of Nations qualifier.

The Nigeria team remain the sixth best country behind Egypt, Senegal, Congo DR, Tunisia and Cameroon in Africa.

The Germans still maintain their number one position in the FIFA ranking following their against Chile in the Confederations Cup, they have managed to overtake Brazil (2nd, down 1) and leapfrogged Argentina (3rd, down 1). European neighbours Poland (6th, up 4) also have cause to celebrate, having risen to their best-ever ranking.
