The Gift Album: 4 Things You Didn’t Know About Burna Boy’s Feature

Beyonce‘s curated and produced “The Gift” album for the live-action remake of the animated classic, “The Lion King” has united music lovers from different parts of the world.

One of the most talked-about songs off the album is “Ja Ara E” by Nigeria’s very own, Burna Boy.

For those who (love and) are yearning to know more about this tune, here are four interesting things worth noting:

  1. ‘Ja Ara E’ is written and sung by Damini Ogulu (Burna Boy) and produced by Richard Isong (P2J)
  2. It is an ode to the wisdom and spirit you need to survive in Lagos and indeed in Africa.
  3. The song is a direct counsel to Simba,  the courageous heir- apparent who “laughs in the face of danger”.
  4. To “Ja’ ara e”, is to wise up and arise to the ways of royalty, leadership. In other words, “stay woke”

In his true authentic style and message, the African Giant represents home, country and continent on this one.

The entire album features Beyoncé herself and various talented artistes from Nigeria and other parts of Africa.
