A training aircraft owned by the International Aviation College (IAC) belly-landed yesterday at the Runway 23 of the Ilorin International Airport.
The plane, said to be a training aircraft belonging to the International Aviation College (IAC) Ilorin crash-landed at the airport.
It was reported that the Diamond plane with registration Number 5N-BNH with two pilots onboard crashed landed at exactly 11:05am without any casualty, it was learnt on Thursday.
Confirming the crash, Rector of the College, Engineer Benedict Adeyelika said the aircraft is currently under assessment by investigators from the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and that the aircraft had sustained minor damages from the landing.
He stated that it was important not to speculate the crash as the AIB were on top of the situation and the college was ensuring that it gives the investigators all the support, data they need to determine the cause.
The state Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed who was said to be returning from his Abuja trip was delayed as a result of the incident.
As of the time of filing this report, it was learnt that the Accident investigation Bureau (AIB) has been informed of the incident.
