Bose Ogulu, mother of Burna Boy, Nigerian Afro-fusion sensation, has earned the praise of fans on social media for her acceptance speech at the 2019 edition of the BET Awards.
The ‘Ye’ singer had bagged the BET award for Best International Act, and Mama Burna — as she is fondly called by Twitter users — took to the stage to deliver the acceptance speech on his behalf.
“Thank you BET, Thank you, Africa, because that’s the constituency for which we got noticed in the first place,” she said.
“The message from Burna, I believe will be that every black person should please remember that you were Africans before you became anything else.”
Thrilled by her speech, the gifted singer took to Twitter to hail his mum.
The iconic speech has since generated a positive response on Twitter.
“Mama Burna words at the BET concerning Africa was an inspiration We love you and we will stand by your Son @burnaboy,” a Twitter user wrote.
