Ways To Reduce Large Pores On Your Skin

maxresdefault (4)

You can’t make your pores disappear, but you can make them look smaller. Excess sebum, along with dirt and bacteria, tends to clog the pores. To make matters worse, blackheads tend to make pores more visible and look even larger.

Open pores worsen with increasing age as the skin loses elasticity. Genetics, stress, and a poor skin care routine also contribute to open pores. Many people end up using products or treatments for large pores that instead of minimizing the pores make matters worse. Here are some natural ways to reduce large pores.

Eat Right: Food that is high in fat and unhealthy oils can inflame your skin, which can lead to clogged pores. Instead of chips, candy, and cookies, snack on natural, low-fat foods like fruit and vegetables.

Ice: Works as a simple and effective home remedy to help shrink large pores due to its skin tightening effect. It is often used to minimize enlarged pores before applying makeup. It will also stimulate circulation and promote healthier skin. Wash your face with ice cold water once daily or infuse the water for ice cubes with cucumber juice, apple juice, green tea or rose water or wrap a few ice cubes in a clean washcloth and hold it on your skin for 15 to 30 seconds. Do this a few times daily. You can reduce the frequency of use when you see improvement.large-pores1

Exfoliating, Cleansing And Moisturizing: Open pores tend to look enlarged when they are clogged with oil. One fast way to shrink large pores on face, nose or cheeks is by proper cleansing and fixing your skin problems. To reduce the size of your existing enlarged pores, you need to exfoliate your skin consistently to get rid of dead skin cells that can otherwise widen pores and thicken oils that can make your pore size to get enlarged. Mix together grounded orange dry peel and grounded almonds, it is use for removing dead skin cells and cleansing the skin. This also works to reduce size of the big, opened pores on nose, cheeks and face.

Egg whites: Are also widely used to shrink enlarged pores because they tone and tighten the skin, egg white masks are also great for drawing excess oil out of greasy skin. Simply whisk an egg white and spread it evenly on your face. Allow it to dry completely, and then rinse it off. For better results, after applying the egg white, cover your skin with pieces of tissue paper and peel them off when the mixture dries. Do this once or twice a week on a regular basis.

Baking soda: Works as a gentle exfoliating agent removing excess oil, dirt and debris from your skin. It also helps balance the pH levels of the skin and reduces problems like acne and pimples due to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Mix two tablespoons each of baking soda and lukewarm water, apply the mixture on your skin and massage in circular motion for a few seconds. Finally, rinse it off with cool water. Repeat the process daily for five to seven days. Then reduce the frequency to three to five times a week for a few weeks.

Lemon juice: Contains citric acid that exfoliates your skin and minimizes the appearance of open pores. It will also help improve your complexion and remove dark spots due to its bleaching effect. Mix one teaspoon of organic honey in the juice squeezed from one lemon, apply it on your skin, and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it off. Do this daily at least for a month or apply a mixture of two tablespoons each of lemon juice and tomato juice. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat daily or three or four times a week for at least one month to see encouraging results.

Tomato Lotion: This natural remedy works effectively to reduce size of enlarged skin pores because of tomatoes astringent properties. Due to this property, tomatoes help to remove surplus oil, tighten the skin, and minimize large open skin pores. Tomatoes also have lycopene and anti-oxidants, they act to slow down aging of the skin and help to repair skin fast as well. Make a tomato lotion by mixing together 1 tablespoon of fresh tomato juice with 3-4 drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Apply this lotion on your face to get rid of enlarged pores. Keep this lotion on the skin for about 15 minutes, and then rinse it off with cool water. Bonus point is that this remedy also works to remove blemishes from your face.

Yogurt: contains lactic acid that eliminates excess oil, dirt and dead skin cells, thereby minimizing the appearance of open pores. It will also reduce wrinkles and fine lines. Apply a thin layer of plain yogurt on your face. Let it sit for 10 minutes, and then rinse it off. Repeat daily or three or four times a week for at least one month. Those with excessively oily and acne-prone skin can apply a mixture of one teaspoon of yogurt, two aspirin tablets (crushed to a fine powder) and one egg white (thoroughly whisked). Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes, and then rinse it off with cool water. Repeat once or twice a week. You will notice improvement after just a few uses.

Cucumber: works as a natural astringent to help shrink open pores, it will also improve your skin texture and add a fresh glow.Grate one fresh cucumber and extract its juice, soak a cotton ball in it and apply the juice on your skin. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it off with cool water. You can also add a little rose water or lemon juice to the cucumber juice. Apply it on your skin, and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it off with cool water. You can use either of these remedies daily for about a month or until you notice improvement.

Oatmeal: Is great for exfoliating the skin and hence removing excess oil and dead skin cells that make open pores appear larger. Another advantage of oatmeal is that it soothes the skin and can be used for sensitive skin as well. Mix together five tablespoons of honey, two tablespoons of milk powder and two tablespoons of oatmeal. Put this mixture on your face and gently rub it in circular motions, leave it on for 15 minutes or until it dries completely. Scrub it off and wash your face with cool water, repeat once or twice a week on a regular basis.

In addition to these remedies, take proper care of your skin, protect your skin from sun damage and exfoliate once or twice a week to remove excess oil, dirt, and dead skin cells.
