Yemi Alade took to Instagram to remark on Cardi B’s declaration of her tune “I Like It” achieving number one, saying:
“We need to do a song soon o! Congratulations… you keep killing em. God bless you… we keep pushing.”
Yemi Alade is also at the top of her game right now, as she has managed to cross over and charm an international market with her whole ‘mama Africa’ vibe. She and Cardi B couldn’t be further apart musically, so a merging of both sounds could either be a hit or a miss.
This could all be wishful thinking, but we won’t be mad if it came to fruition! A fusion of Yemi Alade’s afropop sensibilities and Cardi B’s muscular trap sound? Yes, please!
