DJ Cuppy, a Nigerian disc jockey, has started a scholarship program for African students at New York University.

On Wednesday, the performer announced the ‘Cuppy Fund,’ a new project to support African students at NYU, via Instagram.

Cuppy graduated from King’s College London in July 2014 with a degree in business and economics. She also received a master’s degree in music business from New York University in 2015.

She got admitted to the University of Oxford, where she studied African studies and graduated in 2022.

She recently obtained her fourth degree from the London School of Economics.

Cuppy served as the resident DJ at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban. That same year, she founded Red Velvet Music Group, a London-based music management and content production company.

In July 2018, the DJ established the Cuppy Foundation. In November 2019, the charity raised more than N5 billion for Nigeria’s “Save the Children initiative”.

Cuppy has been recognized for her charity efforts. In 2021, she was appointed ambassador for the Lagos SDGs Youth Alliance.
