First Lady Hosts Oluchukwu Owowoh, First Nigerian Female Graduate Of UK Military Academy

On Monday, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu hosted 2nd Lieutenant Princess Oluchukwu Owowoh, the first Nigerian female graduate of the UK’s Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst (RMAS).

The 24-year-old Owowoh was among the 135 officer cadets who graduated during RMAS’ sovereign’s parade in London on April 12.

According to a Nigerian Army release, Senator Tinubu greeted Owowoh, who was escorted by Major General John Ochai, Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), in the State House.

The First Lady was alleged to have praised Owowoh’s accomplishments as remarkable and divine.

She praised the Nigeria Army for allowing a female the opportunity to thrive and encouraged the country’s children to emulate Owowoh’s tenacity, cautioning them not to be disruptive, terrible, or bothersome.

The First Lady was also alleged to have recommended Owowoh for a national award and encouraged her superiors to promote her as a youth advocate so that others may learn from her.

Earlier, NDA Commandant Maj Gen John Ochai stated that Owowoh’s exceptional achievement makes history among countries such as India, Pakistan, Qatar, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and others who gave their all to be trained in the institution where she excelled.
