5 Politicians Who Have Been Rude to Nigerians

Some Nigerian politicians show little consideration for the people who elected them to power. Instead of assisting the country, some of them squander public funds that are designed to improve everyone’s lives for personal gain.

This implies that instead of utilizing money to develop schools, hospitals, and roads, they spend it on things that primarily benefit themselves.

Nigerians are dissatisfied with politicians that fail to fulfill their pledges and work towards improving the country, despite their election mandate.

Here are 5 politicians who do not deserve to be in power.

1. Alex Ikwechegh

Senator Alexander Mascot Ikwechegh, of Abia, was recently accused of beating a delivery driver in Abuja.

The event occurred when the delivery man arrived at Ikwechegh’s home to deliver a box and asked him to come outside to pick it up.

Ikwechegh felt insulted when the driver asked him to come out to receive the delivery.

Ikwechegh’s reaction was extreme: he allegedly struck the driver numerous times, ripped his clothing, and destroyed his phone.

He even told the driver that “nothing will happen” because of his political connections, meaning that he would evade punishment.

He then apprehended the driver, and the police took the man’s automobile. While some people believed the delivery person should have carried the present to the door, many were taken aback by the senator’s aggressive response.

2. Senator Elisha Ishaku Abbo

Senator Elisha Abbo of Adamawa has also made news for his antics. In 2019, a video leaked showing Abbo repeatedly punching a woman in a store while his police guard was watching.

Despite this, he stayed in the Senate, angering many Nigerians.

Abbo was recently accused of appearing in an indecent film with a woman.

He disputed it, demanding an apology and threatening to take action if he did not receive one. Many individuals believe he should demonstrate more respect and self-control as a public leader.

3. Nyesom Wike

Nyesom Wike, the former governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, is known for voicing his opinion, sometimes too frankly.

In a recent video, he was nasty to visitors who came to see him, stating, “Are they stupid?” “You are not doing anyone a favor by being Minister!”

His harsh statements made individuals feel humiliated and condemned for simply attempting to speak with him about their problems.

4. Godswill Akpabio

Many Nigerians were disturbed by Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s statements concerning a forthcoming demonstration.

During a speech, he stated that while Nigerians were protesting the difficult economic conditions, he and other MPs would be “eating.”

People perceived this as inconsiderate, given that many Nigerians are struggling with exorbitant living costs.

Another time, he interrupted Senator Natasha, saying she couldn’t talk unless invited, adding,

“This is not a nightclub.” Many people thought this was a disrespectful way to address a fellow senator.

5. Femi Fani-Kayode

Former Minister Femi Fani-Kayode reprimanded a journalist at a press conference in Calabar in 2020.

When the writer gently asked who was funding Fani-Kayode’s “Good Governance Tour,” Fani-Kayode grew enraged, calling the journalist “very stupid” and insulting him in front of everyone.

This episode went viral, and many Nigerians were disappointed by his unprofessional and disrespectful treatment of a member of the press. Later, he apologized and admitted he was incorrect.
