Jason Ogbomoh, a 25-year-old Nigerian man, was shot and died in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
On Sunday, November 12, 2023, Jason was shot many times by an unidentified shooter.
Chief Patrick Ogbomoh, his father, is the president of Agbor-USA, a socio-cultural group and apex body for Agbor indigenes in the United States of America.
Officers received reports of a person shot on Peachtree Street Southwest at 3:04 a.m. on Sunday, according to Atlanta police.
Officers came to find a man who had been shot several times. He was rushed to the hospital and died there.
Jason Ogbomoh was identified as the victim by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
According to the inquiry, the incident started when a disagreement turned to gunfire.
According to authorities, the shooter fled the site before officers arrived.
Ogbomoh was a computer science teacher at Marietta Middle School for two years.
Diona Brown, principal of Marietta Middle School, stated in an email to Jason’s parents that they are all heartbroken.
Ogbomoh earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with a specialization in neurology from the University of Georgia in 2020.
He was also attending Georgia State University for a master’s degree in computer science.
Counseling and district support will be available for students and administration to help students and staff, according to school authorities.
The shooting is still being investigated.
