GMAT

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a computer adaptive exam that is accepted by over 2,300 graduate management schools around the world. It evaluates your Analytical Writing, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning skills. A high GMAT score, calculated on a scale of 200-800 with ten-point increments, increases the chances of admission to the world’s top universities. Remember that your GMAT score is one of the most important criteria for doing an MBA abroad.

GRE

The Graduate Record Exam is a standardized exam used to determine a student’s overall academic readiness for graduate school. Some business schools only accept GRE general test scores, while others accept GRE subject test scores. The exam can be taken at home or at a testing center. However, take your GRE at least a few months before applying to graduate school.

IELTS

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a required English proficiency exam. This test is taken by people who want to study, work, or migrate abroad. IELTS evaluates your English Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking skills on a scale of 0 to 9. One of the most important MBA abroad requirements for students is IELTS.

TOEFL

The TOEFL is a standardized test used to evaluate the English language proficiency of non-native speakers seeking admission to English-speaking universities. TOEFL is accepted in over 190 countries, making it an important MBA abroad eligibility requirement.

A good TOEFL score is one that is greater than 100. Your TOEFL results are good for two years. It is widely accepted as one of the most widely accepted MBA entrance exams in international universities.

Admission

Admission requires a bachelor’s degree in business and at least 4-5 years of work experience. Here’s how to apply to MBA programs in other countries.

Requirements

The various criteria you must meet to study MBA abroad are complicated. As a result, to make things easier, the following are the most common MBA abroad eligibility criteria to adhere to:

  • Academic requirements: A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field of study from a recognized university is required for any candidate interested in pursuing an MBA from another country.
  • Work experience: 3 to 5 years of work experience
  • Language proficiency: Being fluent in the language of the country where one wishes to pursue their MBA is one of the most important MBA abroad criteria.

Prerequisites

The following are some critical points to remember during the MBA abroad admissions process:

  • Documents required: For MBA admission abroad, a current resume, a letter of recommendation, official transcripts, a recent photo for ID, a valid national passport, and a visa are all required.
  • Essay: Individuals must write about their past experiences, goals, strengths, and weaknesses, among other things, in order for authorities to better understand their personalities.
  • MBA abroad exams: Students who want to pursue an MBA in another country must take the GMAT, or Graduate Management Admission Test.
  • Admissions exam: This exam is required for MBA admission to international colleges, and the score ranges from 200 to 800, depending on the university.
  • Language proficiency test: Students who want to study MBA abroad must pass the TOEFL and IELTS language proficiency tests. The TOEFL and IELTS are divided into three sections: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • University entrance exams: Many universities may hold entrance exams to assess the abilities of international students. It is critical that they pass these exams because they will serve as their entry point into their desired college.
  • MBA interview: This is the final barrier to overcome in order to gain admission. The format of the interview will vary depending on the university, but questions will generally focus on previous work experiences, future goals, perspectives, and so on.

MBA abroad without GMAT

Some business schools have dropped the GMAT requirement. Check the admissions criteria for each of these to see if significant work experience is required or if additional documents must be submitted with your application.

Here are some business schools that do not require a GMAT or GRE score

  • Students at the Foster School of Business (Washington) can take the ‘Test Optional Summary of Qualifications’ instead of the GMAT and answer two questions about their analytic and quantitative skills from previous experience. Tuition for international students is $56,127.
  • Similarly, the Eli Broad College of Business accepts applications from candidates who do not have a test score in order to attract a diverse mix of students. Tuition for international students is $54,616.
  • Among European business schools, Birmingham Business School is an option. They will consider your GMAT score and other evidence in your application, but it is not required. Domestic and international students pay tuition of £31,500 ($37,948).
  • Furthermore, the IESEG School of Management in France does not require students to submit a GMAT or GRE score. The MBA program costs €39,000 ($39,628) in tuition for both domestic and international students.

MBA abroad without work experience

If you’re worried about not having enough work experience, the following institutions will accept applications from candidates with little to no work experience.

  • Work experience is not required for admission to the Stanford Graduate School of Business because the school is more interested in candidates’ contributions in the workplace.
  • Despite the fact that the average student has five or six years of professional experience prior to applying to The Wharton School, the MBA program accepts early career candidates with little or no experience who demonstrate solid managerial and professional potential.
  • The admissions committee considers a person’s work experience, not in terms of years, but in terms of the depth and breadth of their position, contributions to the work environment, and level of responsibility and progression.
  • Candidates with at least five years of work experience are typically attracted to the London Business School. Candidates with less than three years of work experience who can demonstrate superior academic credentials and outstanding leadership evidence through professional and personal experiences may be admitted.
