Moji Afolayan Biography: Inside The Life Of The Veteran Nollywood Actress

Moji Afolayan is a Nigerian actor, director, producer, and filmmaker. Kunle Afolayan, a veteran Nigerian cinema actor, award-winning filmmaker, and businesswoman, is her elder sister. She is the first daughter of late Nollywood actor and producer Adeyemi Josiah Afolayan, also known as “Ade Love.” Rasaq Olasunkanmi Olayiwola, better known as “Ojopagogo,” is Moji’s husband.

Early Life and Career

Moji Afolayan was born on February 5, 1968, and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria. She is originally from Agbamu, a town in the Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria. She was the first child of the late legendary actor and producerAde Love, who is also the father of the actors Kunle Afolayan and Gabriel Afolayan, and was raised in an acting household.

Afoloyan attended Coker Primary School in the Lagos State city of Orile Iganmu in southwest Nigeria before moving on to Esie Iludun Anglican School, where she earned the West Africa School Certificate. She later attended the Oyo State College of Education, where she received her teaching certification.

Career

Moji Afolayan is a film and television actress, producer, director, and filmmaker. She discovered her gift when visiting her father. During her father’s active years with the Awada Kerikeri Theatre Group, she became interested in performing. She, on the other hand, walked away from the active cinema scene after she married, due to her husband’s persuasion to keep her out of the public spotlight so she could focus on her marriage and growing children.

Moji appeared in the 2016 Yoruba film “Arinjo” alongside Ojopagogo (her husband) and Dele Odule. She has appeared in several Nigerian films.

Among the films in which she has appeared are “Lakurubutu,” “Ore Meji,” “Ikoko Emi,” and “Tojubole.”

Personal Life

Moji’s husband is Rasak Olasukumi Olayiwola, also known as Ojopagogo. Ojopagogo is well-known for his roles as elderly folks in films. The two married on December 4, 2004, and their union produced four children.

 

She is the daughter of late Nollywood actor and producer Adeyemi Josiah Afolayan, popularly known as “Ade Love,” and Mrs Beatrice, a retired schoolteacher.

Moji Afolayan’s siblings in the film industry include Aremu Afolayan (brother), Gabriel Afolayan (brother), Kunle Afolayan (brother), and Toyin Afolayan (aunt), their late father’s junior sister.
