Biography of Faze: Education, Career, Record Label, Awards, and Net Worth

Faze’s full name is Chibuzor Oji. He’s a well-known Nigerian singer and actor. In 2011, he made his acting debut in the critically acclaimed Nigerian film Alero’s Symphony as Lovechild, the lead male role. He also composed the film’s soundtrack, for which he received an Africa Movie Academy Award for Achievement in Soundtrack in 2012.

Early Life & Education

Faze was born into a family of nine children on March 7, 1977, in Festac Town, Lagos. Faze is the fourth child in a large family. Everyone in the family is said to have good singing voices that have been honed by spending so much time singing praises during prayers. He received the majority of his education in Lagos, Nigeria’s southwestern region.

Career

Faze launched his first publicity campaign after winning the DBN Karaoke competition in 1994. Before joining the Plantashun Boiz, he was a rapper known as Lyrical Orge. Faze released his debut solo album, “Faze Alone,” in the final three months of 2004. The hit singles “Faze Alone,” “Angel Gabriella,” “Miss U,” and “Na True” reached the top of several music charts. The album’s release aided in the further development of his distinct musical style, known as “universal flavor,” which combines R&B, Reggae, Pop, Dancehall, Ragga, and Soul with an African undercurrent.

Faze’s sophomore album, “Independent,” was released in 2006. Faze’s third studio album was released in 2008. “Originality,” the album’s first track, also serves as the title. The singles “Am In Love” and “Spend My Money” were also successful. Faze finished and released their fourth album, “REFAZED,” in 2012. Am In The Mood, the album’s lead single, received extensive radio and television airplay.

In 2013, he added two new songs to his discography, “Ifeoma” and “Lambo,” and he released music videos for each song in response to the single releases. Faze has shared the stage with foreign performers who have gained international recognition, including Wyclef Jean, with whom he co-wrote the song “Proud To Be African.”

Faze has backed well-known and reputable company names with his music prowess, including Star on the yearly Star Trek Event, Globacom on the National Globacom Campus Storm, Guinness on the Guinness Extra Smooth Discovery Shows, and Sprite on their talent development competition for kids, Spriteball.

Record Label

The Nigerian record company Westside Records had already signed Faze in 2004. In 2006 he launched Independent Entertainment,his own record label, and uses it to release all of his music.
