Edo Queens have won the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) championship for the first time in club history.
The Benin-based team drew 1-1 with Bayelsa Queens in their final NWFL Super Six playoff encounter, bringing their total points to 10 from five games. They won four games and lost one.
Moses Aduku’s girls won their first title at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Bayelsa State after Rivers Angels were unable to upset Heartland Queens in a 1-1 draw on the final day.

With the victory, Edo Queens will represent Nigeria in the West African Football Union (WAFU) tournament, which acts as a qualifying round for next season’s CAF Women’s Champions League.
