Nigerians have been named fifth among the world’s most active social media users in 2024.

According to figures from Cable.co.uk and We Are Social in 2024, which were uploaded by World of Statistics on X on Sunday, the country ranks sixth globally in terms of average daily online time.

According to the statistics, Nigerians spend 3 hours and 23 minutes every day on social media.

Kenya topped the list, with people spending the most time on social media (3 hours and 43 minutes every day).

South Africa is close behind at 3 hours and 37 minutes, followed by Brazil at 3 hours and 34 minutes and the Philippines at 3 hours and 33 minutes.

Nigeria ranks only below these countries in terms of social media participation, with an average of 3 hours and 23 minutes.

Other nations with high social media usage include Colombia (3:22), Chile (3:11), and Indonesia (3:11). Saudi Arabia and Argentina finish in the top ten, with daily averages of 3 hours and 10 minutes and 3 hours and 8 minutes, respectively.
