How 100-level Ilorin Student Slumped and Died During Lecture

Aminat Tajudeen, a 100-level student at the Kwara State College of Education, slumped and died in class while listening to a lecture.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, according to Punch.

According to a source, the student had picked up her matriculation gown for the ceremony on Thursday, April 13, and had returned to class when the incident occurred.

According to a senior school official, the late Aminat was rushed to the school clinic after collapsing during a lecture.

She was later taken to the Muslim cemetery, Osere, for her Janazah and burial.

While speaking at her burial, the deceased father was quoted to have said that “she showed no sign or symptom of any sickness. We had quite a lengthy discussion on several issues before I escorted her to get a cab to the school.”

The college Public Relations Officer, Mrs Abibat Zubair, who confirmed the incident, said the deceased was a student of Music/Yoruba, adding that she was mourned by the college and students during the matriculation ceremony.

“The Provost visited the parents yesterday to sympathise with them and also mourned her today during the matriculation ceremony together with the students,” the PRO said.
