Kanayo O. Kanayo, a seasoned Nollywood actor, will play an Igbo-speaking character in the upcoming film Out of Breath, his first major part since 1992.
Kanayo, best known for his role as ritualist Chief Omego in the 1992 Igbo-speaking classic Living in Bondage, will co-star in the new film with Chidi Mokeme and Jidekene Achufusi.
On Tuesday, the thrilled actor rushed to Instagram to promote the upcoming film’s trailer.
He captioned it: “Everyone is at home in his dialect. English language remains a borrowed tongue”.
Out of Breath is an Igbo epic film directed by Obi Emelonye which is inspired by true events.
Emelonye released the trailer on Sunday, March 24, to celebrate his 57th birthday.
