Kemi Adetiba Begins ‘King of Boys 3’ Production

The Nigerian director Kemi Adetiba has announced that she has begun pre-production on the third installment of her successful film ‘King of Boys’ (KOB).

In a recent Instagram post, Adetiba said that the future movie will feature both new and returning characters.

In the message, the 44-year-old acknowledged her enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the continuity of the ‘King of Boys’ tradition.

The movie producer titled the future sequel ‘The Beginning of the End’ while asking fans “what they would like to see”.

“New characters getting introduced, and a few old ones returning… But the KOB impact remains the same,” she wrote.

“Actually, scratch that. The new KOB submission is elevated in every way you could imagine… And I’m honored to be able to come back to tell this story.

“KOB 3 – “The Beginning of the End” Pre-production is officially on for KOB 3,.. and I’m so excited to start making the calls to new and some old cast and the crew needed to bring this ambitious vision to life.

“Make sure phones are on charge, so you don’t miss a call 👀 And I can’t wait to see you on set.

“Ps. What do you think is gonna happen in KOB 3 or what would you like to see?”

Last year, Adetiba revealed that Seun Kuti would star in KOB 3 after sharing a picture of herself, Sola Sobowale, and the Afrobeat singer.

‘King of Boys 1’ debuted in 2018 and has gained widespread reception since then.

The film follows a businesswoman who becomes embroiled in a power struggle and a trust game that threatens everything around her as her political ambition grows.

Adetiba’s first sequel, ‘King Of Boys: The Return of The King’, was released in 2021.

Cast members such as Sobowale and Toni Tones made their return in KOB II. It began with Sobowale’s triumphal return from a five-year exile.

Her startling resurgence, on the other hand, rattles the cages of her old and new adversaries alike. Once-trusted comrades abandoned her at her most vulnerable moment, all while she fought a deeper struggle within herself for the redemption of her broken soul.
