Mass Comm Alumni to Inaugurate Solar-Powered System at Ibadan Poly

Students from The Polytechnic’s Mass Communication department in Ibadan, Oyo state, have announced preparations to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

The Ascom Class of Presidents (Ascom CoP), 1998/2004 set, indicated in a statement that they will inaugurate a solar-powered system for their department as part of the reunion celebrations.

Yekeen Akinwale, chairman of the anniversary’s media committee, quoted Tunde Muraina, chairman of the central working committee (CWC), as saying that the group will also make a similar gesture to the Mass Communication department at The Ibarapa Polytechnic in Eruwa.

The Ibarapa Polytechnic used to be a satellite campus of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, where alumni completed their national diploma (ND) programs.

The chairman also stated that the committee will organize a series of activities to commemorate their years of friendship and educational legacy.

He stated that many sub-committees have been formed to push the activity.

The chairman announced that the reunion will feature health clinics, capacity-building seminars, company promotions, and a Thanksgiving celebration.

He also stated that honors and recognition would be given to meritorious people who have excelled in their careers, as well as former teachers and deceased colleagues.

According to Muraina, the reunion will be themed “Ascom Class of Presidents 20th Anniversary Reunion: Today, Tomorrow, Together”.

He stated that the association would use the reunion to execute various humanitarian projects to assist its members.

The events began in March 2024 and are scheduled to end in August 2024 with a grand finale and the installation of a new management team to lead the association forward.
