Mohbad: Lagos Court Remands Naira Marley, Sam Larry for 21 Days

On Wednesday, a magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos, remanded Naira Marley and Sam Larry in police prison.

The two are suspects in the death of fast-rising artist Mohbad.

Mohbad died on September 12th. He was laid to rest the next day.

The Lagos Police Department said on Tuesday that it has taken Naira Marley into jail for questioning.

Sam Larry was also detained on September 29.

The Lagos police sought that Naira Marley and Sam Larry be kept in custody for 30 days pending the completion of their investigation at a court hearing.

However, in her decision, Chief Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun ordered that the accused be remanded for only 21 days.

The court decision came about the same time that Primeboy, a friend of Mohbad, was declared sought by the police.

According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson, Primeboy did not respond to the offer to participate in the investigation into Mohbad’s death.

The police also offered a N1 million reward to anyone with information leading to his arrest.

In nationwide rallies, thousands of Nigerians demanded justice for Mohbad.

The state commissioner of police, Idowu Owohunwa, has stated that the command will utilize all of its powers to apprehend everyone charged in the case.

The authorities exhumed Mohbad’s body for an autopsy on September 21 and are awaiting the results.
