Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of Napoli, has rejected a €130 million deal from Al-Hilal for Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen.
The Saudis, backed by the sovereign wealth fund PIF, reportedly approached Napoli with a hefty offer in an attempt to obtain the Nigerian forward’s services.
According to Il Mattino via TMW, Al-Hilal presented their bid to De Laurentiis, offering €130 million for the Nigerian international. Napoli, on the other hand, quickly rebuffed the offer, underlining their unwillingness to split ways with the excellent striker during the summer transfer window.
Napoli is now discussing a new long-term contract with Osimhen in order to keep him. They estimate the player’s worth at around €200 million.
Last season, the 26-year-old attacker finished as the league’s top scorer, with an astonishing 26 goals in only 32 games. His accomplishment earned him the famous Golden Boot title, earning him the league’s first African player to do so.
