Mrs Patience Jonathan, the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, has been named the first Grand Matron of the Nigeria Curling Federation.
Mrs Jonathan stated in her acceptance speech at her Abuja mansion on Tuesday said she was honored to be installed as the association’s first Grand Matron.
As she vowed support for the next games in South Korea, the former First Lady underlined her willingness to throw her weight behind the team’s bid for worldwide fame.
Curling is an indoor sport that is played on ice. It is played by two teams of four players each, who take turns sliding granite stones across an ice sheet towards a target location known as the “house.”
