The 100-hour marathon run by Amuda Mariam, popularly known as Mary Gold, of Nigeria has established a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest chat show on television.
On December 16, the TV host launched the 100-hour conversation program. On Wednesday night, she called the nearly four-day journey to an end.
No. 1 Taiwo Odekunle Street, off Coker Street, College Road, Ogba, Lagos was the location of the exercise.
On the chat show “Pep Talk with MaryGold,” Mariam spoke with one hundred guests.
Mary Gold conducted interviews with politicians, CEOs, actresses, and numerous other Nigerian luminaries during the exercise.
Mary Gold announced on Instagram on Wednesday night that the 100-hour chat show was now complete.
She also shared videos and pictures from the studio where she held up a placard to celebrate the “successful attempt”.
Mary Gold said she added seven more hours to the 100 hours.
She described the stint has a “proof of dedication and hard work”.
“Just successfully completed the official attempt of the Guinness world records for the longest marathon television Talkshow . Thank u all,” she wrote.
“This moment is proof that with dedication, hardwork and God on your side, you can achieve absolutely anything you put your mind to! Don’t give up, don’t give in! The sky is only the beginning.”
Mary Gold previously revealed that she reported the effort to the administration of the esteemed British reference book.
But the GWR has not yet commented on her achievement.
Boris Tomašič, a Slovenian, currently holds the record for the longest marathon talk show. His show ran for 73 hours and 23 minutes, from September 24 to September 27, 2023.
Since the start of 2023, an increasing number of Nigerians have made attempts to break world records, and Mary Gold is one among them.
