Stephanie Linus, a Nollywood actress, was awarded the Lennox K. Black International Prize for Excellence in Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in the United States.
The medal recognizes outstanding medical innovation and contributions to world health and medicine.
According to a press release, this “achievement highlights her dedication to societal well-being and marks her as the first Black recipient of this distinguished award” .
On Tuesday, the movie producer posted images on Instagram of herself and her husband, Linus Idahosa, attending the award event.
Linus expressed her thanks and underlined her determination to use her platform for social good.
“l am beyond humbled and exhilarated to announce that have been awarded the prestigious Lennox K. Black International Prize for Excellence in Medicine by Thomas Jefferson University,” she .
“This honour is not only a recognition of my journey but a celebration of our collective efforts in activism and making a tangible social impact.
“It’s a reminder that together, we can confront challenges, spark significant changes, and heal communities. This award belongs to each of you who has supported, believed, and walked this path with me.

Linus is well-known for her activism and significant contributions to women’s health and rights.
Her films and activities to tackle issues such as fistula and gender-based violence have played an important role in promoting societal change.

The prize is named after Lennox K. Black, a Canadian industrial businessman recognized for his philanthropic activities and service on many boards, notably that of Thomas Jefferson University.
