Nigga Raw was born on November 1, 1975, in Egungu State, which is located in southern Nigeria. He was raised in Enugu State. Nigga Raw is from the small town of Ebem Ohafia in Abia State. He received his primary school education at Robinson Primary School in Enugu State, where he also earned his primary school diploma. He continued his secondary school education at Awkunanaw Boys Secondary School in Achara Layout, Enugu State, and later earned his West African Senior School Certificate.

After finishing secondary school, Nigga Raw enrolled at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu. He graduated from IMT with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration Management.

During his secondary school years, Nigga Raw began rapping while still a member of the Awkunanaw Boys. After completing his tertiary studies, he began his professional music career in 2001. He is frequently credited as one of the founders of Igbo rap, a style that is now popular with a large, international audience.

Nigga Raw rose to prominence in the late 2000s after releasing his top-charting singles “Obodo” and “Hip Hop Gyration,” which peaked at number one on the MTV music chart and were played in a variety of clubs, radio stations, and television stations.
