Teni Biography: Inside The Life Of The Nigerian Singer

Teni is an award-winning Nigerian singer, songwriter, and entertainer who is multitalented and free-spirited. Teni quickly rose to fame and stardom in the Nigerian music industry because her lyrics were relatable.

Background

Teniola Apata is Teniola’s birth name, and she is from Ekiti State. She was the ninth of ten children born to Mr. and Mrs. Apata in Lagos. Teni’s father was a retired Brigadier General who was assassinated in 1995, when Teni was only two years old.

Teni attended Apata Memorial High School in Lagos, which was owned by her late father. Teni moved to the United States of America (USA) after finishing secondary school to pursue a degree in Business Administration at the American Intercontinental University. Niniola, a popular singer, is her younger sister.

Her music is diverse because she is inspired by everything around her. She adores Wasiu Ayinde’s music, and it shows in her own. Teni considers music to be spiritual because she believes it has the power to change people’s narratives.

She used to play the drums in the school band when she was a kid. She and her siblings were also not allowed to go outside as children, so they spent their time singing loudly in the corridor.

Teniola enjoys basketball and would have been a basketball player if she hadn’t been a singer. She is also passionate about business, charity, and technology. Teni credits her self-assurance to her parents, particularly her mother.
